New Membership Plans and Extended Off-Topic area!

Several months ago, the Senior Team, the CBMods, and I sat down and started a discussion on how to improve ControlBooth and how we could get people to make CB their online home. Two goals emerged, rework the membership program, and open up and expand the Off-Topic section. So, we opened up the Off-Topic Section to ALL members (not just the paying ones) and added new benefits and reduced the price of our membership program.

The new membership program has significant additional benefits over the old program:

• Max 2000 Stored Personal Messages
• Edit Topic Title & Description

• New! Unlimited Attachment Upload Limit

• Warm, satisfying feeling

We've also updated the pricing structure for the membership!

• $18 for 1 Year
• $26 for 2 Years ($10 savings over a 1 year membership)
• $34 for 3 Years ($20 savings over a 1 year membership)
• $42 for 4 Years ($30 savings over a 1 year membership)
• $50 for 5 Years ($40 savings over a 1 year membership)

The old membership plan was $30 per year, so this is a big change that we hope will encourage more people to become members of ControlBooth.com
Members who are currently in the CB Supporters Program have been migrated to the Premium Membership Plan. If you have a recurring monthly payment, those will expire at the end of September. If you have any questions, please Private Message me and I will address any concerns you may have.

The New Off-Topic Section is now open. The link to the new section is up top on a new tab if you are not using the default theme, it is in the navbar, look for "Off-Topic". All of the normal forum rules apply. (no sales, no cursing, no ninjas - just pirates, etc)

I like the last additional benefit the best...

I never knew there was a membership cost; I was under the impression that CB was supported purely by donations...

So now I'm a little bit smarter...

The membership is optional and full of additional benefits that enhance CB's offerings. The site is supported by Ad revenue and our membership plans. For most of CB's history, it has been supported by donations, without which, we would not still be here. But we have advertising contracts with companies in the industry now and we wanted to rework the membership plan (and title) to reflect the fact that this is an optional membership plan, not our primary source of revenue anymore. We changed some policies, opened up some forums that had been for paying members only, (now are open to everybody) and added as many benefits as we could for the optional membership. We are eternally grateful to everyone for all those years of donations, which enabled us to get to this point. I have several new features planned, some being released soon, some more than a year or two down the road. Between the advertising revenue and the membership plans we now have the means to do the things we want to do to make CB into an even better resource and community.
