    Default Sound Sequencer and power

I have a sound set up where the board and the amps are located in sperate rooms. It's more an annoyance than anything else. I am interested in installing something that would allow me at the board to turn the amps on and off.

Each amp is on a dedicated 20 amp line run into a sperate board with a conditioner and surge protection on the pannel. Right now the Amps are already sequenced together. (I turn on the top amp the rest power up)

Thank you for any thoughts or suggestions.

    Edit: missed the first line.

Who makes your sequencers that are currently installed? This should be a simple process of adding a momentary switch and running a two conductor cable to the sequencer.

There are several potential approaches and as Edrick noted, if you want to try to do it with what you already have then it would help to know what that is. Also, when you turn on the top amp that sequences the other amps, are you actually turning it on via the amp power switch or is there a sequencer or controller of some kind that you associate with turning on the first amp?

The Amps are Carver Amps and they just have a light gage 18 or 20 set of wires going between them. There is an EAW processor that is always on. The board is an Allen and Heath with a rack mount power supply. As far as I can tell there are no ports on the power supply that I could just run a cable to. I will look at Furman's Website To see what they have.

Okay, some of the Carver Pro amplifiers have an integrated sequencing functionality and it can be wired to operate from a remote. You can probably find the associated manual here, CarverAudio.com - Carver Pro Manuals, and if it has the integrated sequencing it will be addressed in the manual.

I looked at the PM-700 just as one example and it shows being able to configure the sequencing for multiple amplifiers to be initiated by a) turning on the main power switch for the first amplifier (which seems to be how your system currently operates), b) externally switching the AC power or c) applying +5VDC to +15VDC to the first amplifier. The latter seems to do what you want and all you would need is a latching switch at the mixer location and an appropriate DC power supply that are then wired to the first amplifier.

And a way to make sure you know that switch with cause all the amps to be shut off if hit accidentally.
