They have a 100 lb capacity. The speaker can rotate freely around the post. There is also an adjustment for degree of tilt. (On-Stage Stands SS-7323B)

I was figuring that these would be a reasonable way to mount speakers on a cinder block wall. I could mount these on either side of the proscenium opening and rotate and tilt the speakers to tune the space. I figure they would also work for other speakers if the current donated speakers aren't adequate for the task.

    Reasonable idea?

If the speaker box has a mounting cup in the bottom, it might work. But I think a box designed to be flown would be safer.

As len noted, the speaker needs to have a compatible pole mount cup. You'd also need to make sure the method used to attach the mount to the wall also accommodates the 100lbs. capacity rating. Also consider that the speaker is held on by gravity with no mechanical attachment, probably not ideal especially if you had a tall, top heavy speaker angled down the full 45 degrees. I'd definitely consider at least adding a safety cable.

On a lesser note, if you look at http://www.onstagestands.com/specshe...es/SS7323B.pdf you might note that when angled down then at the joint the horizontal piece is above the angled piece, so if the speaker is very deep that would seen to be digging into the base of the speaker.
