Never having used a telex before I can't really say from experience, but you should be able to. I will assume that two wires are tx+ and tx-, so you would put those on one cat5e pair, and two other pins are rx+ and rx-, so you would put those on a different cat5e pair. The other two pins I will assume are power, so you would put those on the last pair or two. I say the last pair or two because you may want to parallel the last two pairs depending on the current requirement of the telex.
Unless you feel like making weird adapters for RJ45 to XLR6 you could solder XLR6 connectors to the cat5e. Mouser electronics has them for about $8. |

Telex don't list a pinout for 6 pin on their website, so I'm not sure they manufacture anything with a 6 pin connector.
Note that there are the 2 different versions of 6 pin XLR and they are not interchangeable. If we're in fact talking about ClearCom, then there is most certainly NOT a TX pair and an RX pair. The pinout is: 1 ground 2 +30V 3 Ch A audio 4 Ch B audio 5 Program audio + 6 Program audio - So if you only need one channel of comms to the domes, an adaptor and some 3 pin mic cable will satisfy your needs... |

I have the MS-2000 with the BP-2002 belt packs which are in fact 6-pin.

The recommended wiring is shown on Page 15 of the manual here, http://www.telexaudiocom.com/binary/...r%20Manual.pdf. Three pairs plus shield, but they recommend 22AWG. My concern with using CAT5 cable would be losses with the lighter gage cable.

It's interesting to note that the spec page for the MS2002 lists it as clearcom compatible, yet the pinouts are different...

If it's like the older BTR Base stations it is compatible with Clear Com once you reconfigure some Dip Switches. The Cable Out Issues would be... interesting, if there isn't a 3pin XLR on the Base Station.
Anyway... With the Voltages needed for Intercom, don't you need to go through a balun? |

You can change a pin out with DIP switches or changeable links on the PCB...
I'm not sure what you are eluding to with the voltages comment. PoE runs 48 volts down the cable at up to 15.4W for the best part of 100m... |

I didn't know the voltage rating. Thanks.
