Re: A&H ZED24
I have a ZED24 and it's a pretty good little board. I'd much rather have it's big brother either the ZED420 or one of the GL series. However the ZED24 is much more affordable.
What are you intending to do with the console? I would not highly recommend this board for say recording, yes it has a USB audio connection, but it's only stereo. And the 24, unlike the 420 does not have groups or some other nice things like that. There is only one sweep, and only 4 auxes (2 pre, 2 post).
If it will do what you want, its a really good console for the price.
It's pretty durable, about as much as any A&H console is. If you are moving it around a lot, of course invest in a good hard case for it.
There is another thread in which someone else was asking about the ZED420, so you might want to check what people had to say there.
A NOTE: the ZED 24 is not a true 24-channel console. It only has 16 full channels. In the '24' they count the 'stereo channels', which are often not counted. These do not have XLR ports, less EQ, etc. One of these is used for the USB from the computer.
