Konig & Meyer. Given the choice, I would purchase only their mic stands. Their 21080 is a standard item.

Most mic stand manufacturers offer several levels of quality. K & M, Atlas, Quik Lok, Ultimate Support, etc., all offer high quality stands.

+2 for the K&M and Atlas bands. I have many of each. They are great.

How much punishment do they have to stand up to? If not much, there are some really cheap ones that will last you ...

The Atlas MS-10 has been THE standard stand since the 1950s, and it's amazing how reasonably priced they are, considering that they dominate the professional market by a good margin.

I bought six of the Ultimate MC-97 stands a few years ago. They are nice because they have a hand clutch for easy one-hand adjustment and are stackable. Ultimate claims you can stack up to six; unless they've redesigned since I got mine, stacking six is pretty unstable, but three or four works nicely. These are used in a theatre & are holding up well, but I can't judge how they might do with really rough handling or touring.
