Communication Midi

I can not seem to find a simple free program that will allow me to edit and create MIDI files. I've searched many times but theres only about 3 that I have found and none of those work; I believe they are viruses anyways. What do you guys use? I know for our rehearsals we used MIDI and sometimes we need to edit them but never could.

For a long time I used a program called Magix Midi Studio. It wasnt free but it was only about $20 about 5 or 6 years ago, so it must be cheaper now. However, it was terribly un-intuative and really not very nice. All the manuals were translated from some other language and the translation was poor at best. Sorry that's not really an answer you were looking for, but it's what I used.

I personally use Cubase, but I believe Audacity has some limited MIDI functionality.
