Default wireless microphone covers.

While I have been using condoms for years to cover the transmitter packs, our local civic group has come up with a better and cheaper solution...

The cut the neck off of balloons and stretch them over the cases. They are just as water proof, are tougher to rip and are a LOT cheaper!! So far we have only had to replace one after two nights of rehearsal. On that one, the actor snagged the mic and I had to re-solder the connections. I hate soldering those tiny little wires(Countryman mics).

That all may be true, but not nearly as much fun, (on many levels).

I usually buy them buy the gross online... or walk into a planned parenthood wanting expired un-lubed condoms. They look at your weird.

Unlubed condoms work great...my university is the largest buyer in the area. People are always kind of scared when we first tell them that until they figure out why...

Give these a try someday

Eliminates the awkward looks and if you're working with children/Christian groups you don't have to explain the boxes of condoms.

The other nice thing I forogt to mention is that the bulk packaging eliminates the hours of opening up condoms.

Personally, I've always enjoyed that process. Elayne Boosler (whatever happened to her?) used to have a joke saying what should be printed on the packaging is "Make her bite here."

I used polybags on my last show ... basically ziploc bags, but 4x7 so they fit the transmitter better. 100 for $5 from the local TAP plastics store. They seemed to do the trick, plus they didn't bend the antenna or pull it close to the lav cord.
