Hi there right I'm new to this for a start im usually on lighting lol so here goes. .
I'm doing a show with and using some float mics and others and the actors are going to be in a separate room im running the mics to an amp/mixer/cd combi wedge system running to four FOH's already and basically i want to set up a speaker in the actor's dressing room so they can monitor whats going on. Can anybody guide me and tell me how to do this? Will i need any extra equipment such as amps/leads etc I've got the speakers for the dressing room ready to go i just need to know how to connect them up maby i could run them from the output on the mixer system? anyway anyone got any tips? cheers ~adude23~ |

70 volt systems are great for dressing room monitors... very easy to daisy-chain multiple speakers along a run from room to room to room...
Use a matrix from your console with the program feed.

At our theater we use the ALD (assisted listening device) audio feed through a home stereo receive, to the various places in the green room and dressing rooms. Each speakers has it's own passive volume control mounted on the wall below it.
Using the ALD gets this off your mixing board and allows them to hear everything that's going on in the auditorium, not just the mix.

Right erm well i don't know the exact make of the mixer but it has roughly 8 channels where two of them are used up one for cd player and one for FOH's as for the speakers i'm putting into the dressing room im using a yamaha stage pass 300 system and was planning to run a single balanced jack to jack lead from the output of the mixer into this system would this work?
as for the FOH's all four of them are wired into the main system and are plugged into the mixer via two speakon - speakon cables. and the mixer well if you take a look at this it's almost identical same specifications as far as i can see just a different make not sure of mine ~ash~ Last edited by adude23; May 21st, 2008 at 06:57 PM.. |
