Default Collaborative Articles for problem shows

What does everyone think about making collaborative articles for shows that we hear about pretty often (i.e. beauty and the beast and the producers). If we combine the ideas that are expressed in the several threads on each into one place that will certainly help the efficient transfer of information (and maybe prevent us from talking about that d**m rose every few months.

Just a though would take some work to do well probably

It's the "take some work to do well" part that is tough.

I've been thinking about doing something like this for a long, long, long time. My thoughts are to use MediaWiki and customize the templates for the data needed for each show.

I'm ordering a book on MediaWiki to learn how to do this. We'll see how it goes.

I'd help if it would keep us from hearing about the Rose and the Transformation!

As long as the CA is only a place for technical issues to be resolved and not design issues this is a great idea. How to build the rose, not what the rose should look like.

Aren't most shows to some extent "problem shows"? Perhaps a more appropriate title might be "Common problems encountered in staging popular shows" or some such?

And so on. Some ambitious soul could start a CA just pointing to the threads discussing the above.

What about a more general "Methods to light a scene based:" and then different sets/scenes. "Schools" "Forests" "Beach" kind of thing. Just relay general things with lots of different ways you can achieve a good look, without of course telling you exactly how. Lists of gels and there uses so for example number whatever useful for darker forest scenes?
    Just a thought.

If your willing to wait a bit (hence the long, long, long time) and willing to look at new software you might look into the new Google Wave project. They gave a long presentation about it at Google I/O recently I think somewhere around minute 45 they really hit on collaborative document creation. Plus it's Google so you know overall usability is going to be high.
