One thing that has always annoyed me here is the inability to search for certain words in the search feature. From what I can tell, it ignores any words that are 4 characters or less, and I haven't been able to find any way around it. Trying to search for "Source Four", for example, will end up only searching for "Source". What if you're searching for "S4", "EQ", "Gain", or anything like that? A few weeks ago, someone started another "You Know You're a Techie When" thread, and I lightly pointed out that there were a number of past threads on the subject. In retrospect, however, I can't really blame him. A search for "You Know You're A Techie When" only actually searches for "You're" and "Techie", which isn't very helpful.
Can the system be redesigned to accept words of any length? It's really annoying to not be able to search for something specific because the search keeps rejecting one of your words.

Setting it to anything below 3 characters makes the search index MASSIVE. I can override the search engine for certain words, which we have done on many occasions. Test any word you think of and let me know here which words I need to add to the override list.

Personally, I've found the "Search Site/Google" box far more useful, and rarely if ever use the "standard" search (although sometimes do use the "advanced" search). The google search seems to have no issues with "EQ" or other small terms. See http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/s...le-search.html.
