I agree. I'm still loooking for a nice picture for my desktop. Right now I've still got my picture of Prague, but I'd like a nice photo of a rig.

there was a great gallery I was going to put on CB, but the author decided to stop supporting it and not update it anymore... so I decided not to use it. I'll keep looking around, but you are right Inaki2, it takes up a LOT of server resources... not too much bandwidth, but when it has to generate thumbnails or manipulate the photo's, it eats a lot of CPU cycles that teh Apache, PHP, and MySQL server all are already fighting for.

Well, I'll try and upload some cool pics into my server, at least to download, and maybe put up a small gallery

How about using something like Photobucket to host the images? That way they are not stored/use up bandwidth on the servers.

I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to the backend workings of the site.. I like to have the ability to customize to the nth degree whatever code is on the site. Photobucket doesn't allow me to integrate with my site to use the existing usernames as well. (One rule I adhere to when considering new features to the site is whether or not it uses the same login as the main part of the site.

maybe just a very small gallery then? or have a user submitted gallery where users can submit links and the links would be posted on an area, but not the actual thumbnail?
I'll look into it some more over the weekend
