    Default Nested quotes

For as long as I can remember, our forum software has simply ignored the original when quoting a post that contains a quote.

Now I as much as anyone, hate to read a forum with something such as
    This.
    Like.
    Me two.
    And me.
But sometimes meaning/intent is lost without the original reference. Is this an easy setting to change? Can it be set so that it only goes one or two layers deep? It's a pain to imbed quotes manually, and I think only available to moderators.

Even the basic response has a wrap text in quotes tag button. You may lose who said it but if you needed to reference something way back like an OP statement, you could copy it paste it quick and then hit the button. So it's quick and easy to wrap something in the quote tag if you need the context, but I agree if there was a setting or something to make it work nice and easy it would be helpful. Because most people either don't notice the button or don't think to use it.

Anyone can imbed quotes, but it is a PITA.

But, I've also used forums where it didn't, and it got confusing. I guess if it only aded the quote before, it would be better. Although Tapatalk doesn't add Quoted quotes ever.

It's the "may lose who said it" part with which I take issue. In order to achieve the "Originally Posted by..." byline that is missing. I find that incredibly useful. (As well as the little gray "View Post" box containing the >, of which many readers aren't even aware.)

This doesn't get complicated at all...

But yes, the little >> box is very nice when you can't find things, although it seems to break when a post gets moved.
