I very much agree with that, and have thought the same. For all of you guys out there who want to further their careers in an educational environment, your butt is going to be spending some time behind a sewing machine and a cutting table. Its something that I personally dreaded when I had to do it, but was actually very enjoyable. Now you would never seen my name next to costume designer (though I know a great deal about costume history) but I wouldn't mind stitching a show again. Sewing a fabrics in general is a good skill to have (Just 2 weeks ago I made a Cyc out of a large piece of muslin saving the theatre around 1500 bux. I thinks is time that we add the last design element here.

If there's enough demand, it'd be a good addition! Some of my good friends are in costuming. And yeah, sewing is a good skill to have. A really good skill. And I don't mind sitting behind a sewing machine, actually, I rather like it. My mom makes some quilts, and she has a really nice Bernina machine.

Hey "Juki"is my middle name. No not really but I'm right there with you I try to keep my sewing skills hidden. I am just a scenic sewer though I don't do costumes, actors seem to like thier clothes to fit. I agree however a costume forum might not be a bad hing at all.

I'd love to see a costuming section. I'll be honest, I don't know much about costume technology or design - just what it does to my lights and set
I'd love to see this |

The problem with waiting until there's enough demand is that the people who would demand it will go somewhere else. Costumes are an important part of what we do.

I'm gonna bump this and see if anything happens. Still wondering about a costume and props forum? And if there is a reason it shouldn't exist, just wondering why. Thanks so much.

I agree that there should be a Costumes area, but feel that since props falls under the the responsibilites of the Scenic Designer, the subject of propery (okay, properties) can/should be discussed under Scenery.
Site Mechanics, how 'bout it?
