Wiki Shotgun start?

I've got lecture notes from my intro to tech theater class. They are filled with places where there is a term with a one or two sentence definition. By using these I could throw up a ton of new topics in the Wiki with simple short definitions very quickly. They would be far from complete, but it would create a bunch of good starting points for others to refine and fill out the details of. Is this shotgun approach a good idea or should we stick to creating more complete pieces one at a time? I won't do it unless others think it's a good idea.

Here are two examples of what I'm talking about. Again they are not complete but they are starting points.

Watts: A measure of the amount of energy consumed while operating a lamp.
NOT a measure of light produced.

Lumen: A measure of the amount of light produced by a lamp. Officially defined as "the amount of light on a 1 foot square white surface, placed 1 foot away from a “standard” candle." A standard candle produces 1 candle power of light.

Personally, I think this kind of "shotgun" approach would be very useful. It's an excellent starting point. If others then wanted to add on to the definition they would be welcome. I know that personally I tend to go on and on and on...... It might be very well that we get a short, sweet definition, then follow it with a more indepth conversation, in a later paragraph.

I'll get started when I have a chance. I usually throw a term up on the board with a definition then talk about it for 5 minutes or so filling in the details. My notes are just those key sentence or two to explain the main idea. So it will be incomplete that's where you guys come in.

I agree with the rest: great idea. It'll get terms up so that people can add on.

Short definitions are great for papers and whatnot, also for people who want just a quick, simple definition.

I just finished throwing up 10 new topics and short definitions in the Wiki. The light ones could really use some work. I posted them in the please help list. I'm not an HTML guy so I wasn't sure how to make the links work.

i tried to redirect it to Black Box Theatre
and forgot that the already created article was called Black Box Theater
can it be fixed?
