Event Listings

Would it be of benefit to have a place for descriptions and/or links to events in which forum members are taking part? ...with the posting member making mention of their contribution to the event.

While it may be nice to have event listings, it would be interesting to hear dvsDave's opinion. It seems like an event listing would be walking a fine line on the border of advertising. If it did fit in the TOS it would be really cool to just have a communal calendar where everyone could put when and where the events they are working on are.

I don't think it violates CB's TOS, but many professionals would not/could not participate due to privacy/proprietary information policies. I think it's a good idea, particularly for the high school and college crowd. "Hey, you did That Show too, how did you do the..." Of Course, a person with that question could just start a thread...

Derek has a very good point and CB v3 will have this feature. I've sketched out a very special unique feature for this site that will help dramatically with the sharing of ideas and practices for productions. I'm looking at the feasibility of coding it myself or hiring someone to help. (anybody a php guru?)

As far as that feature goes, go for it, if pros can't talk about their events thats reason for them not to post, but not reason to not have the feature.
