Photo Forum

So, this may be a stretch for a forum, but from some PM-ing that I have been doing it seemed like it may be worth suggesting a Photo forum. Maybe it could be encompassed in a Portfolio type forum. It seems though that people may be looking for advice on how to get good archive shots of shows, or portfolio stuff. Just wondering what others thought.

Is version 3 going to have unlimited bandwidth.... because it probably should.... I am kinda afraid that v3 is going to take over the world, I think we are making it too smart and it will know too much. If it gets together with facebook its all over.

TONS of space and TONS of bandwidth (not empty promises of a trickle of unlimited bandwidth, but LOTS of simultaneous metered Bandwidth)

Not photo albums, though that is cool. I am talking about a forum that encompasses asking questions like: "What is the best lens to use for shooting XYZ type of scene in my show?" Probably, like a said, could fall under say a "Portfolio Creation/Organization" type header.

Sure.

I know we have the Student Feedback Forum, but it seems like it may not be a bad idea to have a forum (or possibly a sub forum) for say Portfolios, as we often field a lot of questions in that department. This I think would be a good home for people to ask questions about theatre photography. I have fielded a bunch of PMs about shooting photos for theatre and portfolios, and it seems like it would be something that could have a home in the forums. I suppose it could be an Off-Topic thing, but I would bet there are plenty of people who are seeking or have answers to such questions. I suppose partially what I am saying is that a photo forum is probably too narrow an ide for CB, but if it were to fall under the umbrella of say portfolio prep, it may give people a place to discuss techniques for documenting their work.

I seem to be having a hard time vocalizing this idea.

lol... actually that is a great idea. Oddly enough, my day job is to run the ecommerce empire of an independently owned camera store. This is a professional camera store that carries literally every lens currently in production from all of the manufacturers (600mm and down, although we've ordered 2 of the 200-500mm f2.8 Sigma Lenses)

So, this is actually my area of expertise.

We'll definitely do something for a photo forum.
