Default Annoying Fill in the blank

Sorry, but the fill in the blank questionnaire was not at all a very good one. There was no N/A response to several of those questions that are entirely appropriate for not just me, but others on this list as well. How many productions is STerry involved in a year, For instance? I don't know and I don't think it matters -- that is not the reason he is here. (nor is it the reason I am here either.) If you are going to require that the form be filled out, then other responses need to be made available.

I understand wanting the information, but, it would seem to me that the only real viable option here is that you are selling the information to perform gain some sort of sponsorship. This is, for the most part, fine with me, just be honest about it. And if that's the case, it would seem to me that those of us that have already put forth the cash, could opt out of the form. It's just really annoying and not at all a way to be welcomed back after a somewhat extended abscence.

Stepping of the soapbox for now......

No, ControlBooth is not using the data to specifically target ads at any one individual or group, but I am collecting the data to show potential advertisers the demographic breakdown of ControlBooth members. This is the same practice as how one obtains a free subscription to a trade periodical/magazine and will be used in a similar manner. The advertisers will see only compiled percentages and not any specific data on any one user. I would never sell the raw data to anybody--that would be foolish and counter-productive for me.

Watch your inbox for the new CB Newsletter, which will have a further explanation of the questionnaire, as well as some other updates and information.

I understand the want to distribute that information, and I don't have any real issue with doing so. I just wish that it could have been better in the options I had to respond with. Ulitmately it will lead you to have more accurate data and get a better response out of those potential advertisers.

I was fine until it started mentioning money.. and then I just made up some extreme answers instead. Should've been N/A or Prefer not to answer options...

I work two months out of the year on stage crew at my theatre gig, and have no idea of how much they spend on their production.

I volunteer to basically be the TD at church, but have no idea of their budget either.

So I had to guess. Sorry.

(It may mess up your demographics, but I respectfully request an "unknown" type of answer be added to some of the choices.)

You mean I wasn't supposed to register as a 21 year old showgirl from Cheboygan, Michigan, with an annual budget in excess of $500,000. I'm so embarrassed!

Hey... the more people we have with a larger budget, then the more potential advertisers will consider the site!!!

While I know it was said in jest, it really doesn't do the site any good. The more accurate the data, the better off the site, as a whole, is.

That's why I think that the questions, as well as answers, need to be done with a little more thought in mind to get the best possible data. Writing surveys is a very difficult thing to do to make sure you get accurate data.
