Honestly, can't you just solder in a pin in the center? Not perfect, but as long as it makes contact it should be okay.

in my expirence with laptop power jacks, they are the hardest part of the computer to replace becuase they are buried beneath everything. I was unable to get at mine (a 15 inch laptop). you say you have already got yours apart, so good luck putting it back together

I have to say, this is one really nice thing about the power connector on the macbook line. They dont have this issue, and even if you kick the power cord, it pops right off the laptop and no harm is done. Now, if they could run most lighting software, i would not be in the market for a windows machine...

They can... via bootcamp for show type stuff and fusion or parallels for offline. :-).
