Just the wording in the lawsuit that presumes Martin lost sales to ETC because of similar handles on the yoke and not because of a myriad of other reasons is what is laughable to me. I don't see how they could prove that to a jury.
Sorry to piggyback off this topic, but I'm trying to get a Multiverse Show Baby to connect to my ColorSource Spot V's and am just not having any luck. I have all the default settings from the Show Baby and have them matching in the light I'm trying to turn on. But there is just no sign of a...
In my experience selling lighting consoles to and audio gear to high schools (and also my own high school experience 20 years ago) the majority of theater teachers don't know how to do tech stuff, especially lighting. Every couple of years a kid steps up and teaches themselves enough to get...
The stories Carrot Top told on Neil Brennan's "Blocks" podcast about Leo Gallagher and his friendship with Gallagher are some of the wildest I've ever heard. You can find clips on YouTube.
Most mixers can perform what you're looking for. I just watched the video for the RMP1870 on Rockville's website and while it does have an output to setup stage monitors it doesn't look like you can do a special mix for it. You are just sending the main mix to another set of speakers, which will...
So, this makes it sound like you are designing lights for a show without ever having worked in technical theater before. Do you have info on the space? Grid height, lighting positions, drawings of the space, an inventory of the light fixtures, etc.
For a top wash I would use the Source Four Pars. With soft beam lights you tend to need very minimal overlap with the fields. You can usually get away with just touching them. An ERS is what usually needs more overlap. And to help you understand how many lights you need per pipe and their...
The reality of the situation is that you'll most likely be working with the same units and/or in the same space fairly frequently. You'll hopefully get to know the ins and outs of the fixtures and be able to do the best you can with what you can get. That is where your consistent results comes...
It depends on the fixture really for how much it rings true. There is a chance that it will work exactly as written, there is a chance that you'll overlap the fixtures and find that the intensity where they overlap is double that of the light 2 ft next to it.
You can also change the Ion to record cue only instead of tracking. As someone who has never had the luxury of time to get used to tracking, being able to turn it off has always been a boon to me.
The short answer to this is no, it doesn't really hold true any more. Conventional incandescent lights have been able to produce a much more even field of light more and more as years have passed, and one of the things that manufactures push about LEDs is how bright and even the field is. It is...
