    CD80 Pack Preheat?

Posting over here since I expect we have better old school knowledge here rather than FB.I've been working on an old CD80 pack and I have a ghosting problem with every channel without any incoming signal. This is a 12x2.4k pack with a control card that will run DMX and 0-10v so this has me...

Where is the front and back of items on a truck.

To me the front of the item is always the side toward the front of the truck. I try to avoid using terms that could be misconstrued. For example, if the item is being pushed in I will say "Straight in" or "Turn 90" if it is something like a setcart I will refer to something that cannot...

Where is the front and back of items on a truck.

I am totally baffled by this thread, I feel like there is some over engineering going on.To me the truck has a Nose and Tail. The part of the case or cart in the truck toward the nose is always the front (even if it is labeled differently). Then you can say things like "is there a load bar...

    Tech slang?

"Pooched", a nicer way of saying "f'ed" in on those corporate and worship gigs.

    Space Force versus ???

A metal back would have added quite a bit of weight to the fixture. Additionally, if you have the version with LumenRadio built in you may have a had an issue getting good signal without an external antenna.I run a bunch of them on some of the tradeshows and they do take a beating but have...

    Jands Stage CL

To go back to the original question. The StageCL can control 24 fixtures so they would still have room to add more later. I think in that situation the StageCL would be perfect. It is simple and does what it does quite well. If you have no desire to add moving lights then I would higher...

Las Vegas - Mandalay Bay Shooting

I agree completely and wholeheartedly! To add to that, why does the media feel the need to further glorify the perpetrator by repeatedly showing their picture? This just dumbfounds me, they should never show the picture again and if they do it should be censored to show that those that do...

Pyro starts fire at a concert - again

Copy that!At first glance of this entire thread I was a bit bristled. Now that I go back and look it over again, (JD's comment in particular) I realize it was all in praise of how the situation was handled. Apologize for my potentially perceived argumentative tone, I was prepared to come to...

Pyro starts fire at a concert - again

Ok, that is what I was hoping to clarify.I would also suggest that the second part of professionalism is knowing how to respond when a situation like this DOES occur. Even on the massive tour scale with all of the safeguards in place, things like this can still happen. Performing on that...

Pyro starts fire at a concert - again

Just so I understand you correctly, are you suggesting that a Paul McCartney tour is not being done by professionals?

    Patching Unknown Fixtures

Wow, that sounds truly horrible. The cynic in me would simply say that it is their (the tours') problem to figure that out if they don't have proper documentation or care to support the fixture manufacturers that did spend the R&D money that the generic fixture just ripped off. That may sound...

Inrush or Surge? How to Protect Against Either?

To expand on the connector aspect of the troubleshooting. I would also check the internal wire clamp screws to make sure that they are still tight. The copper strands tend to compress over time so it is conceivable that the screws could now be loose. I would check that on both ends of the cable.

Why are my LED cyc lights occasionally blinking off and on?

Not to further derail this topic but if you think about it they are always terminated UNTIL a output cable is connected. That connection then disables the termination.Am i just further nerding this out, lol?Although back to the original post, I do have a couple of questions.First, I...

    Projection Mapping/Warping software?

Arkaos Media Master Pro can do mapping and it is fairly easy to map. You could either feet it a live input and let the mapping engine warp it or you could use media master to also be your media server for the content.

    Unsafe?

I'm with you on that question. If that is the case than the rest of the safety question is totally moot.
