I really got into tech theater in high school. I worked with schools, various community theaters, was on the board of a community theater. My second major in college was Technical Theater- primarily lighting design. I spent a couple summers in college working professionally as a lighting and pyro tech at amusement parks and during the year was a paid student electrician for the school's performing arts center. After college, life went in a different direction with my first major. I moved, got married, did some theater and then got too busy as we had kids. Two of my kids are in high school now and I'm starting to get pretty involved with helping the theater department with lighting and sound.
