The one on the right is probably a level wheel, the one to the left probably changes fader pages like on an Eos.I'm also really glad they added the back-lit keys and from the looks of the picture, actually made it possible to dim the console littlelits.
Honestly some of the coolest fixtures I've worked with recently are the Colorado Tri-Tour Pars. They have a really decent punch, seem rock solid, and go for around $500 a pop. Another plus for a show in the round is that they are a Tri LED fixture which means that the front of the fixture looks...
+1 for the Clay Paky Alpha line. The 1200 spot are really nice fixtures with a much better feature set than the VL3500s. For washes the VL2500 washs are good so are the Mac 700 washs. For the overstage spots I'd pick either the Clay Paky 575 or 700 spots. The Mac 700 spot is a good solid light...
I would defiantly second the Mega-Lite products. As far as RGB LEDs go they have really good color mixing and can actually get into the reds without losing to much intensity. I've heard about them shipping some defective Axis LEDs which they have replaced with minimal questions asked.
I just used several on a show and had the same problem. The profile is slightly wrong. Even though the home on the shutter channel is in the proper place but there is not setting for it. Copy the profile, then go into the shutter channel and add the proper range from the paper work and set that...
The C-Splashes are pretty cool we just demoed a few at work based on an owners crazy request. They work fairly well, even though they are a little dim, and everything they need is in one wire that connects back to the power supply. They would be great for your application but you'd probably have...
Go for the IQs. LED pars are nice but unless you get enough nice one they won't do much in a theatre setting. The one thing that i would think of getting with the IQs is drop in DMX iriss so you can control beam size.
Soca is normally sold as a unit rather than by the foot as the most difficult part to deal with the the connector. It really isn't for permanent install and i personally wouldn't want to deal with the weight of a cable that is over 100ft. With that said you could probably contact any of the...
So if a bolt needs to be tightened to approximately 140ft.lbs., then a Milwaukee 18v Impact Driver (the tool i use normally) which delivers 116.7 ft.lbs would actually not be able to tighten the bolt all the way and defiantly would not deform the bolt or damage the truss?
So today i was working on a load in for school and the TD flipped on me for asking for and impact driver and wrench to bolt truss together. He said that it was bad for the truss. This is conflict with several professional shows where we've bolted hundreds of feet of truss together using an...
An axon/ DL should work fine on an EOS. I ran a pair of DLs off an Ion along with a bunch of conventionals and a dozen movers when i couldn't get a road hog like i was planing (had to chose between a console or a couple of scrollers). The only thing that i found to be annoying was spending so...
The 1000 is a great console for a rig your size, is readily available, and runs similar to other hogs making people comfortable with them. It would definatly kick your old NSI around.
No way, i'm going to see Great Big Sea there tonight.
Anyways back to the topic at hand. I would look at a a used hog of some kind. A 2 if you could get it but you wouldn't go wrong with a 1000 or even an PC setup with wings. An Ion might be nice depending on how many people you have coming...
In response to Rockem:
On the occasions that I have worked with touring shows or do temporary events using portable packs we almost always hard patch by the soco run. In other words dimmers 1-6 go down saco A dimmers 7-11 go down soco B with outputs 5&6 on the soco not being used. Or pathing so...
Here's a very quick and dirty plot that i did over the summer as a favor to a local drama group. I hung the lights with the LBO then programed some subs for him and let him run the show.Gear List:
1 NSI MC7524
8- NSI DDS6000+
16- Altman 6x9 (500w), for your needs 8 could be cut and the rest...
