I use a pair of condeser mics over the bridge and put on a high pass filter at 250hz. An SM57 under the piano about 1/2" off the sound board, and an Audix D6 kick drum mic in the sound hole in the low strings and use a low pass filter at 100hz.condesers pick up the crisp clearity of the...
If you choose to use Audacity, the method I use is as follows. Before adding any affects to the original track, make a duplicate. Then bend and beat the duplicate track as much as you want and then increase or decrease the gain on the effect track, you may find this easier to reach a desired result.
Sounds like a nice space, congrats. If you are going to be a road house:- you may want to consider getting some hampers to store your soft goods. We get several 4 truck shows a year and have to do a complete strip and getting our softs on wheels would be a blessing. Also a means to get your...
Quick down and dirty would be locate an audio rental house that has self powered speakers and run signal from the outputs of the 410 straight to the powered speaker. That way your SFX are a total seperate system from you main PA. That may have some advantages.
If you are attempting to create a sound effect in which the audience is supposed to feel as though they are in the middle of a pack of dogs, you will need to have individual dog barks coming from different speakers in the venue. This means that you would need a significant amount of gear. Adding...
Just a thought. Build a turntable in a wall and place 2 identical chairs on it. Surround the chair with white light as crowd blinders. Beast dies and falls into the chair dead... blinding lights come on and the turntable is rotated, by stage hands, 180 deg with the prince now in place, and beast...
Fellas I think I may have discovered the disconnect here. When the poster used the term "Mono" and we corrected him, he may have in fact been using the right term. If by chance this desk was set up to use the "mono master fader" to send to monitors, instead of a mix send, then much of what the...
Might be a little overkill, but nuetric makes a "PowerCon" connector that I have seen used to connect stringers for stage power. The connecter is the same principle as the standard NL4 speakon but has a different stud pattern so they will not interconnect.
To echo what has been posted. Spend the brain cells figuring out what the stage is supposed to do. Then figure out if the systems and equipment will support the activities which will be presented. For example, if you are doing a school musical every year.... do you have enough mic inputs to...
Must agree with Brad. You have drawn a rather tight box around your project which does not allow for further expansion. Would be a shame to have a 16 channel mixer in the booth lots of wireless and all of a sudden some one needs to hard wire a small pit orchestra or something and there is no...
Speaking as a Capt. FF/EMT-P retired, I agree that the acquisition of knowledge for any purpose makes us better people. The double edge sword in this case is as follows.1. Responding to an injury in the theater would be very limited in as much as the basic EMT course teaches skills that would...
