Hello all, recently I have been working on a show where we are trying to control LED tape using a DMX controller. We were able to get it to work straight from our ETC Element, but when we tried plugging in the DMX from one of our lights on stage instead of the board it sparked and blew the fuse...

I believe we are using 5 pin DMX cable, would mic cable not work?
