Conventional Fixtures Cyc Lights Not Blending

Thanks for the tip. Horizontal spread may be better if I end up implementing a ground row.

Conventional Fixtures Cyc Lights Not Blending

Hmm... I think that would work. Most of the lights are wired up with extensions anyways just to get the right dimmer control (the space was renovated last year and they wired it horribly, multiple outlets on the same dimmer with little rhyme or reason) and they would probably reach to the next...

Conventional Fixtures Cyc Lights Not Blending

If it comes to that, I will, but I'd rather not because there are constantly students in our space who could mess with the electrics, probably wreaking havoc if there were lines run.

By backhang, you mean mount them such that they are being held as far away from the cyc as possible? If so, I could, but it wouldn't be easy to get them even.

    Pretty sure upstage/downstage.

Conventional Fixtures Cyc Lights Not Blending

The cyc electric is at most 3 feet downstage of the cyc. Our theatre was not originally built with a cyc. It was installed a few years after construction.Moving the lights down an electric would be tricky, because the next electric is about 10 feet downstage of the cyc, and there is a border...

Conventional Fixtures Cyc Lights Not Blending

Hello everyone,In preparation for my high school's production of Seussical, I'm trying to get our cyc lights, which have never been very cooperative, to blend properly. We have 7 of what I believe to be Altman 3-cell cyc lights, outfitted with red, green, and blue cyc silk, equally spaced...

    Seussical

You just made my life so much easier. My high school is performing this show in February and I was dreading the tech design for it. Thank you so much!

Conventional Fixtures Converting Twist-locks to StagePin

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. This coming week I'm going to be in school working on setting up the space for the year all week (teacher planning, so the school is open but students don't have to be there). We do have a shop teacher, but I don't know if he teaches any electrical...

Conventional Fixtures Converting Twist-locks to StagePin

I think that might be the ticket. I'll talk to my instructor on Monday. I don't know if any of our parents are electricians, but we have a lot of friends in the local theatre community and I'm interning with one of them (a lighting designer) this year. Perhaps they could instruct myself and my...

Conventional Fixtures Converting Twist-locks to StagePin

Hello everyone,Last year, my high school received a renovation and we got a new stock of ETC S4s (11 19s and 22 36s) and 20 PARNels, plus 6 15 cell strips (not sure on the make or model). We have all our old Lekos, Fresnels, and strip lights (the Leko's are of various models, I think all the...

    Vectorworks Seating Charts

Hello everyone,Today I was assigned with the task of revamping, and most importantly, computerizing, the seating chart for our space. We're a public high school, and we have a scale drawing of the space which I've gotten in to Vectorworks, but when I went to insert seating objects I couldn't...

    Personal Monitors

We have rentals every week or so, and most of the time they bring musicians that request personal monitors for sound checks.

    Personal Monitors

The distance from our booth to the stage is about 85.' The entire stage area, including wings is about 30' deep by 50' wide. I'll see what I can do about the dealer's, but because we're a public school (forgot to mention that) we're pretty much stuck with the dealer that the county uses. I'll...

    Personal Monitors

Hey everyone,I'm looking to get a set (2-4) of wireless personal monitors for our space. I think Shure is going to be the manufacturer, since our county distributor handles Shure products. What model would be best for a 700 seat auditorium? We don't need anything really high end, but it should...
