We've been donated a used pleated house curtain.
Seeing as how we are lacking flying facilities, do you think it might be possible to rig it to one of our oleo drops?
Has anyone had any experience doing this?
Is it possible to send haze down a pipe which is released through many holes in the stage deck?
Many smoke machines have ducting attachments for this sort of thing but I haven't found any such thing for hazers. Any reason for this?
In the case of backdrops and scrims, why not just use a roller system where the fabric is rolled around a cylinder above the stage? Are there any noticeable differences between such a system and a traditional fly tower?
I had a feeling it might be one of those glass gobos. Can you recommend which one would provide the closest result and with what metal gobo?
Many Thanks,Mike
The one in this clip is a rather unusual one - well to me at least: (starts at 1:50)It's like the top and bottom are rolling into each other. Is this a standard curtain type? What's it called?
Can anyone tell me what the type of curtain in this video with the words "They Royal theatre" written on it is?It rises like an Austrian but remains smooth when fully lowered. Thanks!
Hi,I've been trying to find photos of stage deck winch tracks for some time now, but it's impossible to find any material online. Does anyone on the forum have any photos which show the inner workings of such a system? Thanks,Mike
How could we go about building something like this?: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/West-wing-enchanted-rose-at-Be-Our-Guest-Restaurant-600x450.jpgIt's most likely Pepper's Ghost, but would the glass be concealed within the bell jar?
Thanks for the reply!
I guess I could have been more specific.Basically, we're using 5 hand winches to move set items across our stage. So I guess it's not really automation.
Ideally we'd like to be able to assemble and dismantle the show deck quickly for when we move to our sister theatre...
Cool, I'll give it a try. Which wood would you recommend? I imagine the smoother, the better.
Do you think a very thin coating of VSSD would help the effect?
