    Control/Dimming Obsession 2 Hiccup

That's a thought. I spent 2 hours trying to recreate the problem this morning, maybe tomorrow I'll try the cell phones and radios.

    Control/Dimming Obsession 2 Hiccup

Here's a riddle: Yesterday in preshow at 5 minutes to curtain, the faceplate half of my OB2 rebooted itself. The processor did not, just the physical board. Nothing on stage was effected, thankfully, considering the house lights were under board control and people tend to fall a lot in this...

    Belt light

Yeah, it has to be medium base. I'm using 7w 130v, because it's what exists in my inventory. I'd much rather use 25w frosted but I can't afford any extra expenditures at this point.

    Belt light

I have been given the daunting task of completing a 70 foot long 3 or 4 circuit chase with medium base sockets...and a budget that was cut long after I cost the show out and made the rest of my major purchases. The cheapest option I can find is beltlight...

    Apollo SmartColor

I had a similar issue with my forerunners awhile back and it turned out to be a broken pin in my cable.

    Best Method For Rain Effect

For a tropical rain effect I did recently, I pumped some fog onto the stage and used a couple S4 gobo rotaters with lotsadots shooting down through the fog. My biggest issue was that I didn't cool down the fog and with it shooting from the catwalk it never quite reached the floor.

    Aisle Lights

On my mainstage, our aisle lights are built into the seating and cannot be turned off unless the breakers are tripped. In my modular space, I hang off-inventory ellipsoidals (usually colortran mini 50 degree)focused to the aisles and profiled to 15% intensity. In addition, I have a couple exit...

    Dealing with complete A-holes?

One of my hats around my theater is Production Supervisor for Booked in Events, and this story brings so many experiences to mind. There are always going to be groups or individuals that know more about your job than you do, as well as know more about your inventory and more about your theatre...

    Running Lights

I had an ASM who didn't bother to tell me that she needed additonal runlight and every day just left her flashlight on and set it on the floor. Never asked me for replacement batteries either!

    Favorite Multi-tool Brand

My preference is Schrade. They went under in 2004, but you can still find their products pretty easily. The blades are quality (which is to be expected since schrade primarily made knives) and I really like having the tools on the outside of the handle, but on the wider side of the tool so they...

    macro use

On both my expression and OB2 I have a Patch Macro because I need to run my hang and focus via remote. But for programming purposes, I have a macro to preset scroller levels into the cue prior. Saves a little time.

    New HPL 575w

A friend from another theatre in town told me to be aware that new HPLs were easier to break when relamping S4 caps because of a new manufacturing method or some such thing...anyone else hear/experience this? She said they come with a warning label to point the lamps away from your face, but I...

    Followspot Op with Hiccups?

It gets better with a source 4 on a stick. They are far less forgiving if you're shaky.

    Relaxing Cables

I like to get my cables drunk. After all, it usually relaxes me.

    Hey

This settles it, I'm leaving...I joined here only for serious conversation. All of this light heartedness is not condusive to an active learning environment. I'll go back to asking Mother.
