    Help with non paying guests

It's the same system that runs our box office and uses wireless handheld scanners. I'm attempting to get a hold of our box office manager to find out exactly what we use, but the holiday is complicating matters.Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    Help with non paying guests

My college uses a scanner system, where all guests are asked to scan out and back in during breaks/intermissions. When someone doesn't scan out (ie: goes out through the no-reentry doors, each of which has a "please make sure to have your ticket scanned out at the main doors" sign), their...

    Mackie's new IOS console

Just for the record, our set-up does use a separate and secure network, it just relies on the same hardware as the general-use network (so maybe not completely separate :wall:), with the backup plan being another wireless router we just hook up to the back of the board. I just wanted to raise...

It's a minor inconvenience for us, but what happens when the...

High school plays - what shows are you doing and have you done?

My high school did: Plays: Much Ado About Nothing Auntie Mame The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) - We completely rewrote this one, but we followed the general story line. I absolutely recommend this one if you have a cast that can pull it off. The Crucible Musicals: High...

Electrical questions (lack of neutrals, what other things should be pulled)?

Cat 6 can do just about anything data based. I know my venue uses it to control our LEDs. IMHO, cat 5 or 6 is generally good to put up if you plan on upgrading in the near future.

Where do you call your shows from? (High school especially)

I agree. I've had to run sound for three years of my High School's musicals through a large, open booth window, and each year I asked to transfer to the FOH position in the middle of the house. I've gotten used to in now, all I have to do is lean over my board and stick my head out the open...

    Hello from Michigan

Hello, my name is Thomas, and I have been working in theater for three years, all of which is in my High School Performing Arts Center. I am the head student sound guy there and have worked quite a few large scale productions (for me anyway) (ie: musicals, all-school plays, dance shows, and the...
