Premium Membership?

So im a Premium Member.

Got a free year from Usitt but not extly sure what im getting.
Just curious as to what the Premium Membership provides.

Not really sure what it now provides. It used to allow custom avatars, more images uploaded and the use of BBCode in your sig file. My personal opinion is that the COOL factor is enough, shows you are part of the in crowd. (insert random smilie)

I'd say the gratifying feeling of knowing you're helping to support controlbooth, but since it was free... Custom avatar!

It shows that you are an active support of CB and registered to do more than just ask one question and then disappear.

@dvsDave and the rest of the senior staff/mods often discuss what else Premium Membership should include, but we can never settle on anything.

Also if memory serves there is at least on forum (The Off-Topic one) that you need to be a premium member to see.

What about Fun Size candy bars. Everyone likes Fun Size candy bars.

A real suggestion would maybe be an adopt a student/newbie or some sort of mentorship sort of idea. I think that would be great.

I'm pretty sure off topic shows up for everybody. I know there are posts from regular members there.

At one time, off topic was reserved for premium members, today it is not.
The changes have aoccured over time as CB's funding base has changed to have a more stable component of advertising revenue. In the past that wasn't there, and CB was much more reliant on donations - "premium membership".

@dvsDave would need to confirm, but I think today, apart from the warm fuzzy feeling, the main perquisites are:

• Only Industry advertising, no Google Ads
• Custom Avatars
• Personalize your profile page
• Style your signature
• Max 2000 Stored Personal Messages
• Edit Topic Title & Description
• Your own CB Blog
• Unlimited Attachment Upload Limit
• 5MB Per Post Attachment Limit
• Create Calendar Events
• Create Polls
