Players by the Sea Community Theatre and School of The Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Jacksonville Beach, FL, has the following equipment available for free, for a limited time, to anyone willing to pick it up in its entirety from our location.

The Wybron Motovator system is a DMX-512 controlled scenery and drapery motion system. The Motovator provides precise servo control of the position and speed of movement of AC motors, DC motors and hydraulic actuators used to move scenery, drapes and drops. The Motovator can be used anywhere motion needs to be tightly integrated with show lighting and effects, using standard lighting consoles and moving light programming techniques. This system allows motion to be designed and edited in the same way (and by the same personnel) as lighting cues.

This equipment was generously donated to us through one of our volunteers, and while it is a fabulous system, it is much too complex for our volunteer tech crew to use and maintain on a regular basis, and so it has been sitting in our cramped tech storage area. I also realize that someone in the ControlBooth community will be able to make much better use of this equipment than we will and so I’ve convinced our Executive Director to give me a month or two to try to dispose of the gear here, rather than scrap.

We have (as a complete group, picked up by you in Jacksonville Beach, FL):

·18 - Gearmotors (90VDC brush motor, 1/4HP) w/ pulleys and encoders
·2 - Gearmotors (same as above) w/o pulleys or encoders
·Parts for 1 additional Gearmotor/pulley set
·4 – Complete three channel (three Servo amplifiers,) DC motor control boxes
·3 – Complete two channel DC motor control boxes
·2 – Two channel Hydraulic actuator control boxes
·Parts / Enclosures for two additional Two channel control boxes
·1 – Complete single channel control box
·Parts / Enclosure for an additional single channel control box
·Two Motovator Absolute Encoder boxes
·1 – 7 ½-foot Motovator Tradeshow rolling drop, with motor, drive, and Control box, mounted in 9 ½-foot wheeled truss unit
·Dozens (literally, I didn’t count them all…) replacement Servo-control boards and Power supply boards
·2 - Go/EStop Safety switches
·2 – Spools nylon webbing for lift pulleys
·Miscellaneous spare parts
·Hard copy, plus .pdf, of the Wybron Motovator manual
Also included is the Anita Terminal Emulation software and Motivator configuration files

Thanks for the consideration

I saw this post in the morning and was interested but I don't think I could fit this in my car at all. It would have worked out great because I'm going up Jacksonville in two weeks. Oh well.

There's an interested party making arrangements to pick up the equipment, but if that falls through, I'll be sure to post here. You could probably get it all in a cargo van, there is one piece (the truss mounted roller drop) that's 10' long....
