Intercom Interface

Hi There,

I am trying to interface a Telex/RTS XO-1 Beltpack/System with a wired Telex or Clearcom System, I was thinking of having a cable built that would interface the systems via the belt packs 4-Pin XLR headset connector, I can spare a a beltpack from each system to use for interfacing, and just leave the “Talk” active on each belt pack. Any ideas or suggestions on making this happen? Would it be more effective to interface the XO-1 Beltpack with the Wired Intercoms main station audio inputs/outputs?

For a 4-pin female to 4-pin female headset cable, I was thinking this pin-out may work?

WIRELESS MIC + <TO> WIRED HEADPHONE +
WIRELESS MIC - <TO> WIRED HEADPHONE -
WIRELESS HEADPHONE + <TO> WIRED MIC +
WIRELESS HEADPHONE - <TO> WIRED MIC -

Thanks!

I tried this before with another manufacturer and failed miserably.
The wireless beltpack output all sorts of digital noise when connected to the wired.

But speaker audio levels != mic audio levels.

As for the digital noise, an appropriate analog low pass filter might be the trick to resolving it...

Do you have a picture of the back of your Wired system? Something you might be able to do is take a xlr from the back of one of the units and plug it into the back of the other one. And then you have to run a xlr to everywhere you want there to be a wired headset.
