I recently met an individual that has a lot of documentation on the history of Circus technology, and he had a few documents on some early Gas lamps that were utilized at the time. These documents originate in the early 1900's.
I am hoping he sends some more, but this is what I have for now!

Have fun!

Those guys came up with simple ideas that worked. A giant open flame, they didn't think twice about the risks lol. Today it seems so obvious.

Very cool indeed. The way they wrote is also interesting.

The letters were surely dictated to secretaries. Even in the mid 1980s we would still pick up the trusty Harris Lanier dictaphones on our desks and spout things like "as per your previous telex dated nine five eighty four..." and "we look forward to enjoying your business..." and "we stand ready to fulfill your order"... In 1997 I found a box of Harris Lanier equipment at a PC recycling center. My younger co-workers doubted my explanation of how this box of gear was used. They asked, "Why didn't you just type in youself?" Gotta put my teeth in the glass now. Thanks for listening and good night.
