I have tried it in both 6channel and 10channel mode, no difference.

This would be expected if the fixture is having problems with the DMX signal.

Have you tried a single fixture with a short cable connected to the console? If problem persists then an easy fix is doubtful. A local theatre shop might have a tester to rent that can read the DMX signal and output what it has read.
