Mac 250 Wash Questions

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying some used Martin Mac 250 Washes for $800. I was wondering if any of you had experience with these fixtures and could answer some questions.
a.) Is this price fair or is it not worth buying (fixtures are 8 years old)
b.) How much punch do they have onstage/ how bright are they

Thanks in advance.

Those questions are both really hard to answer.

1) Price: It's all about condition, if they're in really good shape and have been well taken care of then $800 isn't out of the question. It's pushing the upper limits of what I would pay for one though.
2) Brightness, they aren't all that bright. They would be fine for a a club, a small band, a black box theater, but not much else.

Yeah I figured. This is the venue I'd install them in.

Probably too high for them?

I wouldn't totally write them off if you can get them for a better deal. We have about 24 of em total, and I have 8 at my campus and they do what I want them to do, which is to add color from the ground (see pic). They aren't the brightest. I probably wouldn't buy them now, but for the right price might be worth it. If you have more budget, you can get some Mac 700 washes for pretty cheap these days (http://bit.ly/1qInsCO) or go 101s (http://bit.ly/1xZGepI).

Also - I've recently tried to get beam kits for 250s and Martin doesn't make them anymore. Sad day.

Thanks, I went ahead and bought a pair after talking to a few guys that have extensive experience with them. Sadly I don't have a huge budget so mac 700s are a bit out of my range
