Microplex

A proprietary communication protocol made by NSI (owned by Leviton) although occasionally used on equipment from other companies, notably Leprecon and Lightronics, but with a different name for the protocol. Micro-plex is a non-compatible alternative to the DMX-512 communication standard. Micro-plex systems are made up of short runs of three pin XLR "mic" cable and can support up to 128 channels. The more channels used the slower the refresh rate on the channels is. Most of the information here and much much more can be found at Control Protocols for Lighting Systems. See also Pathway Connectivity - Lighting Control Protocols - Part 2.
