Dramatics, a publication of the Educational Theatre Association, has been polling memember organizations on the titles of their yearly productions since 1938. With the help of NPR, they have recently compiled this data digitally.

Few surprises here, as the most produced plays tend to be minimally offensive with large casts.

5 points to Our Town and You Can't Take It With You for staying on the list for every decade. Seriously though, thats some staying power, wonder if they do this again in 30 years if they'll last the whole century.

Any large cast plays are going to stay around for a while. Most new plays are written for smaller casts because large cast shows cost too much to produce professionally. Consequently, there are fewer modern plays that provide enough roles for a school production.
