Style of PRT lighting truss, often seen on touring shows, where the sides of the truss fold down to protect the lighting instruments during transport, and fold up during installation to expose the instruments. The folded-up sides can also be used as handrails for personnel walking truss, and thus this truss is often seen even on semi-permanent shows where truss-walking is the only feasible method to access the position.

While this method of packaging does eliminate roadcase s and alleviates manually hanging individual fixtures, it is slighting rougher on the units. Even with automated luminaire s that have mechanical pan/tilt locks, bungee nets are usually deployed to keep the fixtures from bouncing around in the truck.
