A style of
flat building utilizing
corner blocks,
keystones, and half-keystones. In this style of flat construction the framing members' faces (usually 1x3 or 1x4)
lay parallel to the
face or covering material of the flat. The covering is usually
canvas duck or
muslin fabric, but can be a rigid
sheetgood like
lauan--a hard flat. Broadway flats tend to be thinner in
profile than
Flat, Hollywood or Studio flats.
