1. Any large, multi-purpose convention space in a hotel, conference center, or resort. Originally, a room for a ball--an extravagant, celebratory affair with partying, dining, and dancing.

2. Michael Bennett's less than successful Broadway production after A Chorus Line. While Ballroom had much of the same creative team, it only ran for 116 performances.
