A document translating
DMX addresses into
binary notation for the purpose of setting the
address of some automated fixtures, LEDs, and
smoke machines. Often there are ten switches, as follows:
Switch# Value/Use
1
.................1
2
.................2
3
.................4
4
.................8
5
...............16
6
...............32
7
...............64
8
.............128
9
.............256
10
...........Mode (or unused)
For example, to set a device to DMX address 247, (1+2+4+0+16+32+64+128+0+0), one would turn ON switches 1,2,3,5,6,7,8.
There are many
dipswitch calculators available on the Internet, and even for PDAs and iPhones, but this author prefers a chart, such as the one attached.
