fuse

1. verb. To weld together, either with the application of heat, electricity, or chemical energy.

2. noun. An OCPD device, intended to protect a circuit by restricting the maximum current that is allowed to flow. A fuse works by melting and opening the circuit when a current that travels through it is over a certain limit. Because of this, fuses must replaced after each time they are triggered.
