What happened to TSO?

Ok, what happened to TSO this year? I did not work the show or see the show for the first time in a few years. We did not have a single TSO related thread this year, what gives? Not that I am complaining, just wondering why. To be fair, I have not seen much of anything on Lightnetwork either.

I got a better question: Will they actually put out the new record this year? This is almost getting to be like "Chinese Democracy".

Really? You didn't see all the threads on LN? I swear I was TSO'rolled a dozen times, especially in the thread about them blacking out cinci.

Bryan did his usual "kicked it up a couple notches". 3 main rectangle trusses over the deck, with 3 smaller trusses inside them, all trimmed with LED tubes. 3 smaller video screens in the center of that. Motors about got worn out moving to and frow. Fiber curtain backdrop center. video curtain on the sides of that. Lots of flames and pyro. Saw the last show of the east coast tour in Dayton OH.

How many different tours do they have going at once?

2 - an east and a west tour.

I saw them again in Philly this year - 3rd year running. There was nothing really different or new about the design this year - it was more of a best-of-the-best show, so I didn't feel the need to post anything. It was a good show, though, and the new moving truss design was good as always. There were 3 sets of rectangles-inside-rectangles, and then something like 5 sections of truss upstage. In the beginning of the show, 3 of the performers came in from the top of the truss rig on platforms which had low-res LED displays on the bottom of them, which were used throughout the rest of the show.

Anyone have video footage from a show this year? Perhaps one that isn't from all the way in the back and has distorted sound as seems to be the case on YouTube.

They came through NC both in both Raleigh and Charolette. Great show, i don't know why they seemed to disappear off the radar, i guess people are just focused more on economic stuff right now.

Ya, I saw that, but nothing really about the show itself. I am a bit detached from the real world this year, so I am not really paying attention to it.

I have not seen it live myself but did see plenty of video of this years tour rig in action. I did talk to a friend that did see the show this year and his view was negative. He said they walked out of the show early as it was nothing but overly loud and way overdone with moving lights. Now I know people will probably disagree but from the footage I saw, it does seem a little over the top. I'm not putting it down in anyway, but when is it too much??

From what I've read and been told, the founders of TSO are rather involved in the lighting process (how much/how little to do in terms of lighting), and they really want it to be a crazy show lighting wise. That's also why there's absolutely no IMAG during the show - they don't want it. And I only thought that I wanted earplugs the first time I went (06-07 tour), it actually seemed to be a slight bit improved in the subsequent years.
