Hi, I used a piece of software (free as far as im aware) about a year ago that was a (quite complex) piece of software that helped you map how you were going to connect all your audio equipment.

Does anyone know what this is called, or could point me in the right direction for this type of thing because it would be very useful. Google isnt giving me anything, think i am searching for the wrong terms

Thanks in advance

Can you clarify what you mean by 'map'? In audio software 'mapping' usually refers to speaker system and acoustical prediction software like EASE, Ulysses, MAPP, CATT Acoustics, etc. Powerful programs that have a steep learning curve. But those have nothing to do with system connections.

For system wiring, probably the most common software, other than using AutoCAD or Visio, is Stardraw, Stardraw.com - System Design Software / Control Software. d-tools, D-Tools Design, Estimation, Proposal Documentation Software, is a more comprehensive program that also includes wiring diagrams. However, neither of these is free. Altinex offers AVSnap, AVSnap | AV System Design Software, which is free but which is more limited and requires you to create most of your own symbols.

I cannot remember if it was either of those you mentioned as they don't look familiar, but they do the job perfectly so thankyou very much museav
