REVO 100 LED Moving Head

Talk to Bill at ESC. I think he might have, and I think he stocks them but I'm not sure.

The thing that interests me based on http://www.irradianthq.com/Product_PDF/Revo_100.pdf is that there is a color wheel. That leads me to believe the diodes are all white instead of RGB. So maybe it's a little brighter?

Yes I think you will be seeing this concept alot in the future as far as keeping the led white and using traditional color and gobo wheels, brighter and better color temperature. As far as buying one, well I want to see if anyone has actually seen it physically as I am wondering how durable something from this company is??

A few things...

I don't know who that eBay seller is but I want some of what he's smoking, the Revo 100 can be had for about half what he's asking.

The parent company of Irradiant is Neo Neon. Neo Neon is a huge Chinese manufacturer producing many quality products as well as some cheap lines. The Revo 100 belongs to the former product group.

The output is nearly equal to ML's lamped with a MSD 250/2

Check out the three threads below with posts from our resident Neo-Neon Dealer BillESC about several of their products. Including comments on overall build quality and even a shootout of one of their wash lights.

New LED fixtures have arrived
90-3w LEDs

Just to clarify as I know nothing about moving lights, what's the throw distance on one of these?

And how much are the lamps, street?

How does it compare in quality to a MAC - obviously it's Chinese, but

Somewhere in those threads I listed Bill said Neo-Neon is similar in build quality and construction to Chauvet/Elation... not Martin. Neo-Neon is a MAJOR OEM manufacturer and (although we don't know for sure) probably makes Chauvet and Elation products so that's why the products are so similar. They are cheaper than Chauvet/Elation because you don't have to pay for the marketing.

Street price on the Revo 100 can be under $ 1500.00 and there is no replacement lamp cost as the 100w diode is rated for 50,000 hours of life.

At 4 hours of usage a day, 7 days a week the light source should last 34.24 years.

I have installed two of these in a club, and now I have two to use for my small, but growing production company.

I have 2 Mac 250's and I did a direct comparison. I would say that the output is about 75 to 80% of a mac 250. The color temperature is different. Not better or worse, just different- but then again, I don't really ever worry about temperature, etc because I only really do Music/event/effect lighting.

The movement is great- a little slower than a mac 250- but still very good. It's a killer fixture for the money- street price should be $1500.

The DMX channels are well designed- and if you can make a profile yourself in your controlling software, you should be good. I made my own profile, for DASLight, and I use these all the time now.

I will no longer be buying any more martins. I would rather have 2 of these over 1 Mac 250. The operating temperature is low- no more burns from those hot lamps, and no more overheating.

I had it up against a Mac 250 Krypton. Maybe 6 years old now- but certainly the "newer" type. Not the smooth body type.

Skinny

Yes I have seen them in action. They are pretty much the exact same as a Mac or Powerspot 250. The difference is the light source. LED vs Halogen. With 50,000hr life, you should expect that to out weigh any other negative comments anyone else has. I have a REVO 100. I am getting out of the business of DJing and lighting engineer. If you are interesting, I have one you can purchase. Let me know. [email protected]
