Hey everyone I just found this board and decided to join it.

I went to school at Sheridan College (Oakville, Ontario) for THEATRE ARTS TECHNICAL PRODUCTION, majoring in lighting and audio.

Unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere theatrically speaking (well an hour from Stratford, an hour from Grand Bend (Huron County Playhouse)). So after quitting from the Blyth Festival (Half hour away), I started an electrical apprenticeship for my uncle.

In highschool I was the Drama Club's Technical Director (and went to the sears drama festival's provincial level twice in 3 shows), and started volunteering at a local community theatre.

I am now the 'Head Technician' for the community theatre, acting as a consultant to others there often.

I am also a crew chief for the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, one of a group of people who take care of lighting and sound for it.

Anyways I am in the 3rd term of my electrical apprenticeship and am thinking of working professionally in production agian when I have my licence.

If anyone has questions on Canadian Electrical Code, I'd probably be a good resource.

Cheers all.

Be careful, it's addicting!

Nice handle, would have thought it was already taken. Oh, and welcome!

Thank you. Clearly I paid attention in theatre history class and mythology eh? Yeah I've been using this handle since highschool, even.

Gotta love the patron god of the theatre (and god of wine)

Thanks for the warm welcomes so far.

Welcome fellow Ontarian! Good luck with the apprenticeship!
