No wait, it's a fresnel.
I was in the audience for an amdram show. Halfway through act one, during a scene change (in black), the whole audience hears a big crash. Figure that a prop was dropped or kicked over... show goes on.
At intermission, I hear the real story.
Went to black for scene change.
Fly went out.
Crew came on to strike tables etc.
Fly going out knocked a fresnel (not sure how; I didn't rig the show)
Fresnel fell off the electrics bar.
Now here you think, "And the safety cable caught it, end of story."
Manually crimped safety cable broke from sudden stress, fresnel fell ontop of a table as it was being struck, from normal trim height.
A foot closer, and the crew member would've been dead...
So word of caution - check your safety chains, used only approved safety chains, make sure your rigging is done properly, etc. etc.
