E1.31 streamingACN where is it holding?

I was wondering if anyone here knows where it's holding.
It's not listed as published on the ESTA site, yet it's also not listed as being worked on at the moment.
I know of several fixtures that have either just been released or will be released soon that claim to support it.
ETC's Matrix Mk2 supposedly supports it.
Chamsys will support it within the next half a year they hope.

So I am not sure what to make of this, it looks very much like it was published yet it could also be they are all just supporting some draft version since it's anyhow all firmware stuff that can be upgraded....

Also what other desks support it or will support it shortly?

The Matrix MKII is really a European product that you probably won't see much of in the States. The Sensor+ with 3.0 code does support ACN however. EOS/ION also support it as of 1.4.4 ? code (I think - maybe not fully supporting it till 1.5)

Even though ETC nowadays makes them they aren't bringing them to the US?
That's too bad they seem to be very nice dimmers.
I might be doing an install with them soon, but in Europe.

MA seems to be saying in their grandMA2 brochure that they are waiting for ACN to mature more and don't intend to implement sACN only in the mean time....

Why would they? They already have a very successful dimmer rack in the US market called Sensor. Why bring in another product line to compete with something that already has well established market prescence.

It ultimately is going to be up to every manufacturer as to what they are going to do - as evidenced by MA holding off on implementation and ETC going ahead and implementing it.

Well the Matrix MkII does seem to be superior to the Sensor, if only for the fact that you can have Sine Wave modules, and the higher channel/rack density (definitely if the dimmer-doubler can be made to work with these dimmers).

Here you have the option of Sensor or Matrix (from ETC), but that "is a run race".

The sensor provides up 96 (192 if doubled) channels in a rack, the Matrix MkII up to 162 channels of SCR (undoubled) or 108 channels of Sine in a full size rack.

But we're veering dangerously offtopic.

E1.31 was approved by the ESTA Board during their March meeting, after being approved by the Control Protocols Working Group and the Technical Standards Committee. It is now awaiting ANSI approval and publication, which should be imminent.

A great many manufacturers currently support the draft E1.31, and more are adopting it every month. It appears that it will be the interoperable method of choice for moving DMX over the network.
