I've been slowly cleaning out the far end of the warehouse. Just came across this relic. Can you name it?

Bill,

It looks like a Lighting Methods CH-5 console. If indeed it is, I would like to talk to you.

LMI 5x36. 36 channels x 5 scenes, with a stand-alone controller for masters of the individual scenes, via push buttons that select what the crossfaders are controlling. As well as a GM and separate scene master faders. Not sure what the last fader on the right on the smaller control does though, possibly an Independent ?, are there a set of independent switches above the top fader row ?. This was a really well designed controller, with a small footprint for all the capacity.

BTW, when you download the image for a closer view, the image has a label called "LMI 5x36", that sorta' helped.

Here I was thinking it was going to be Levy & Kook's first fixture or something.:( Or at least a resistance plate.

BillESC, I thought you would know better than to call something from the 1980s a relic.:naughty: Them newfangled preset-style consoles will never catch on!

It's a Lighting Methods CH5 5-scene preset console. It may be one of a kind.

Since it can no longer generate rental revenue, I think it belongs in the Fred Foster ETC museum!

Please talk to David North.

When will this, alleged, museum be open and online? And what else does Fred have? I've heard rumor of a Skirpan AutoCue.:)

It's sitting on a pallet on my dock awaiting a truck and is headed to Fred Foster's museum.

Is this museum available by appointment? I have some down time this summer....and I'm in Wisconsin.

Nice work Bill and the ETC gang for rescuing another little bit of history. Is there really going to be a museum someday? That would be pretty cool to see.
:angryoldman:5 scene preset! Kids these days with their new fangled cue stacks. have no idea how easy they have it.

Bill if you have a chance can you take a few good close up pictures of it? It would be great to have a shot of that control box especially to use to teach students how it was done back in the bad old days.

I just pulled one of those out of SUNY Potsdam and installed it in a Middle school last year. Potsdam was still using it on their Mainstage up till about 6 years ago.
