You can actually run 14 (its close to that, might be 18) universes without buying Chamsys branded hardware. If you have Artnet or Shownet nodes you can get access to more universes. They do limit you to one 3rd party USB interface.

It's possible to circumvent this limitation by using an application to turn an Enttec Pro or compatible device into an ArtNet node. Ugly but functional. Hold tight, I'm not far off releasing a low cost 4 universe ArtNet & E1.31 box.

Do a search for Champsys here on CB. You'll find MANY articles discussing it. It's a pretty powerful piece of free software. Of course once you have it you'll decide you really need a wing panel... which is how they get a $1000 out of you.
